Ian WhiteEd Rendell: Racist Rant and Bashes American Workers

Governor of Pennsylvania Ed Rendell was unhappy about the NFL’s decision to postpone the Eagles vs. Vikings game to Tuesday. So he called into Philly radio station 97.5 and unleashed a rant that disparaged American workers and mixed in cold war style rhetoric toward our Chinese debt holders peppered with racial stereotypes. He also added that the postponement was a “joke” and that Vince Lombardi would be “rolling over in his grave.” Here is my unfortunate governor:
"My biggest beef is that this is part of what's happened in this country," "I think we've become wussies. ... We've become a nation of wusses. The Chinese are kicking our butt in everything. If this was in China do you think the Chinese would have called off the game? People would have been marching down to the stadium, they would have walked and they would have been doing calculus on the way down."
Not only did he play up the Asian math stereotype and imply they don’t have transportation, but he seems to be unaware that if they were actually marching toward the stadium in a blizzard, it’d be by state mandate. America has an outstanding tab with China, I don’t think the way out of it is trying to scare Americans back into McCarthyism. Also, it was a freaking blizzard man. While I’m sure he’d love to go back to the days of effectively no concept of safety in the NFL, when concussions were treated like knee scrapes, (since he doesn’t have to play personally) the sane among us like that the NFL is slowly but surely acting like they give a crap about their players.
The reason why the rest of the world is beating us at everything has nothing to do with soccer moms burying their children in padding to go outside and play, it’s because jobs are going straight overseas, and education as well as innovation has been killed by politicians like you and their lobbyists since oil, war, prison, imposing debt, pills, and crappy cars are what line their pockets. Sadly I seem to have been one of the only ones listening, but I’m fine with that if I can personally get the ball rolling on cognizance and accountability in this country.
