Greetings, one or two people who may read my blog whenever I have the free time and desire to rant about something, or share my opinion. I haven't been keeping up with my non profit duties as a result of numerous other ventures, but since I've got some free time I figured, hey why not blog about something. In addition, sometimes the staggering stupidity of another human being is so great that I absolutely must share my thoughts with others, since you know talking to myself would be weird...In this particular instance, I'd like to get into the Jesse Jackson controversy, which I just now decided to dub "Genitalia Gate" since its one of the rare non issues used by the media to distract us from relevant topics that I happen to find amusing. And the word genitalia makes me chuckle.
First I'd like to just weigh in on the irony of this situation. Jesse Jackson when he thought the camera wasn't rolling took the opportunity to bash Obama and accuse him of talking down to black people....on Fox News. Let me reiterate, he is mad at Obama and thinks he disrespects black people, and is saying this...on Fox News. I'd say thats the equivalent of having an anit-war rally to raise money for John Mccain. It just doesn't quite work. I'm not even concerned about Jesse Jackson's peculiar interest in Obama's package. I would however like to get into this issue with bitter and ignorant black figures attempting to ruin what would be one of the most historically significant events, EVER because they aren't the ones running or they have some deep rooted hatred for those they deem to be "not black enough."
Now for the guys like mayor Michael Nutter who obviously chose not to originally support Obama for backdoor political deals, I understand. Thats great, enjoy yourself and I hope you and Elliot Spitzer's expensive friend enjoy your cut of our tax dollars. But the jealous people need to get over themselves. Sorry that nobody takes you serious as a presidential candidate Jesse Jackson. Maybe its your hair, your knack for hypocrisy, or fascination with male reproductive organs. Whatever the case may be, the people have chosen and you need to stand behind the candidate who serves your interest and is a symbol for everything you preached about your whole career.
Finally for the portion of my people that justify their lack of support for Obama because he isn't black enough...please die. I am so sick of hearing that nonsense. Would you really rather have a drug using leader who barely can speak coherent English half the time as your next president? Come on, we've already had 8 years of that, and I for one would like something different. Different like, USEFUL. So please, a message to my black community. The last thing Obama needs right now is his own base further distracting people from the issues and making Obama have to go off track doing damage control. Though in this instance, the disdain for Jesse Jackson held by many may actually boost Obama's support, along with the crowd who were nervous that Obama would force everybody to convert to Islam if elected. They'll think, "hey black people don't like him, he's got my vote!!"
