Orlando Magic Looking to Land Arenas

The Washington Wizards are reportedly in serious talks about a blockbuster trade that would send guard Gilbert Arenas to the Orlando Magic. Orlando's President Otis Smith said Saturday he would rate the seriousness of the talks at an "eight out of 10" but that "nothing is imminent." Orlando has the league's highest payroll at $94 million dollars but are regarded as in a lower tier than Boston and Miami. This has made them seek to make a deal to specifically improve their backcourt. Smith has always been a fan of Gilbert and expressed interest in acquiring him this offseason, much to the incredulity of most observers. His desire to trade for Arenas though has been partially validated by his play so far.
But the fact remains, Gilbert has missed the majority of the last 3 seasons due to consecutive knee surgeries and for bringing enough guns to stage a military coup into the Wizard's locker room. Magic coach Stan Van Gundy has gone on record to say that he is reluctant to add Arenas to the roster. Though I'm sure Stan won't object too much unless he wants to go on another "fishing trip." There is talk of a 3rd team being brought into the deal, reportedly the Phoenix Suns which floats in the potential of a reunion between the Magic and Hedo Turkoglu.
Almost certainly to be included would be the practically expiring contract of Vince Carter (only $4 million guaranteed), and Magic reserve Marcin Gortat. A possible scenario could see Arenas, Hedo, and Jason Richardson in a Magic uniform, a team on paper that could be a legit title contender. I could see Arenas coming off the bench terroizing second units with his still potent scoring and improved playmaking, with J-Rich adopting a similar role as Carter except possessing more athleticism and less softness. The Wizards are obviously seeking to save money but mainly must get rid of Arenas so John Wall isn't tempted to play cards with him.
The Suns would, I guess be trying to have some options at big man not named Hakim Warrick, as they just realized they signed Hedo Turkoglu to play Power Forward. But I know they are counting their blessings that he's still somehow tradable. Nash is a great point guard, but he isn't God. Perhaps the only system Hedo can be effective in is Orlando, or maybe he's suffering from the notorious disease of "I just got payed a lot of money, thus I don't care." I hear it can be quite fatal to a career. Either way, this deal could go down today, tomorrow, who knows? The point is, trade seasons in full swing and this likely wont be the last big deal on the horizon.
Update:
Done Deal...The Orlando Magic have agreed to a deal in principle with the Phoenix Suns that would net them Jason Richardson, Hedo Turkoglu, and Earl Clark in exchange for Vince Carter, Marcin Gortat, Mickael Pietrus, a 2011 first-round pick and cash considerations. The Magic will also acquire guard Gilbert Arenas from the Washington Wizards for Rashard Lewis.
