As a Dark Knight fanatic, I was leaping for joy upon simply finding out the name of Christopher Nolan's next installment of the Dark Knight trilogy. Well now I'd like to take some time to go through what is known and the rumors up to this point.
-There will be no Joker
-Harvey Dent will not appear
-Riddler will not be the main villain
-The Dark Knight Rises is slated for a 2012 release
-Nolan will not do another Batman after this (Spiderman take notes)
-Tom Hardy will be in it
Regarding the story line, according to AICN, the plot arc, quote:
Involves a Taskforce out to get Batman headed by Gary Oldman’s Gordon. I love the idea of Tom Hardy playing Hugo Strange, who plots to kill and takeover being The Batman, himself.
In the comics, the attack on Batman is multi-faceted and extremely psychological, as that is why Hugo has the Dr. in front of his name. It brings the Fear Gas back in a very effective manner.
As a result of this rumor, it is speculated that Tom Hardy has been cast to play Hugo Strange. If this is what we have to look forward to, we may be in for a truly epic finale to the series that redefined the superhero film genre.
